Crafted in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, Don Mateo de la Sierra Floreado is a rare, limited-edition artisanal sacrificio mezcal produced by fifth-generation maestro mezcalero Emilio Vieyra. Made from 100% wild Cupreata agave (Agave cupreata) harvested in the pine-forested slopes of Pino Bonito, the mature piñas are cooked in an underground conical stone pit fueled by oak wood and open-fermented in wooden vats with native airborne yeasts. True to the ceremonial pechuga or floreado tradition, the spirit undergoes a special third distillation where local field flowers, wild herbs, seasonal fruits, and regional botanicals (along with venison or turkey breast) are suspended inside the traditional Filipino-style wooden still. This botanical steam distillation infuses the distillate with an extraordinary aromatic bouquet, balancing sweet agave and pine smoke with vibrant floral, fruity, and herbal complexity.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared duck breast, roasted pork tenderloin, mole poblano, artisanal goat cheese crostini, fresh fig tarts, or dark chocolate with candied orange.
