Don Julio Anejo Tequila

Don Julio Añejo Tequila is a benchmark luxury spirit that honors the legacy of its pioneering founder, Don Julio González, who revolutionized the tequila industry by choosing quality over production volume. Unlike traditional high-density planting, Don Julio famously spaced his agaves widely apart in the Highlands of Jalisco, allowing each plant to mature fully for seven to ten years before harvest. After distillation in small-batch copper pot stills, this tequila is aged for a minimum of 18 months in hand-selected American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. It stands as a masterclass in balance, seamlessly marrying the bright, citrusy terroir of Highlands agave with the complex, spice-laden character of aged wood.

Food Pairing: Grilled ribeye steak with chimichurri, dark chocolate truffles with sea salt, slow-cooked pork carnitas, or aged Manchego cheese.

TASTING NOTES Light amber with bright golden highlights; offers a beautifully smooth, medium-bodied texture that sits elegantly on the palate with a clean, crisp weight.

NOSE Expressive and brilliantly balanced; opens with a striking combination of lime zest, fresh grapefruit, and cooked agave, which quickly gives way to warm layers of wild honey, rich butterscotch, and a light touch of oak wood smoke.

PALATE Complex and beautifully structured on the entry; forward flavors of caramelized agave, honey, and sweet vanilla are closely followed by brighter notes of cooked orchard fruits and a complex mid-palate of white pepper, wild herbs, and ginger.

FINISH Medium to long, clean, and nicely rounded, leaving a trailing warmth of dry oak spices, gentle honey sweetness, and a final, distinct touch of wild pepper.
