About the Domaine Marc Roy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 2022
Domaine Marc Roy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 2022 is an incredibly refined, airy, and brilliantly chiseled Burgundian red wine crafted by the talented Alexandrine Roy. Sourced from ancient, 70+ year-old millerandées (naturally small, shot-berry) vines planted just below the Grand Cru site of Mazis-Chambertin, this exceptional village-level Pinot Noir opens with a high-toned, energetic bouquet of fresh redcurrants, wild raspberries, and black plums, elegantly woven with elements of dark chocolate, tobacco, and wild forest floor. On the palate, it exhibits a beautiful structural tension, balancing a slightly savory, black pepper-tinged opening with a velvety, concentrated mouthfeel and superb mineral definition. While structurally muscular for a village bottling, its finely integrated oak and pristine natural acidity yield a highly polished, detailed, and ethereal finish.
Food Pairing:
This muscular yet elegant Pinot Noir pairs phenomenally with classic duck confit, slow-braised veal chops, roasted pheasant, or a rich wild mushroom ragù.
