About the Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 2023
Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieille Vigne 2023 is a pure, highly refined, and supple red Burgundy sourced from 15 distinct old-vine parcels averaging over 50 years of age across the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. Winemaker Jean-Marie Fourrier employs a minimal-intervention approach—utilizing 100% de-stemming, cold maceration, and a strict maximum of 20% new French oak—to preserve natural fruit purity and terroir expression. In the glass, it exhibits a brilliant ruby hue and opens with fragrant aromas of fresh wild red cherries, raspberries, orange peel, and peony blossoms, subtly supported by crushed stone minerality and light spice notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, silky, and succulent, offering a fleshy core of bright red fruit framed by ultra-fine, chalky tannins and vibrant acidity that leads into a long, fragrant finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with pan-seared duck breast, roasted pheasant, mushroom risotto, rack of lamb, or semi-firm cheeses.
