Domaine Durieu Lucile Avril Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 is a full-bodied, concentrated Southern Rhône red blend crafted primarily from old-vine Grenache, alongside Syrah and Mourvèdre. Sourced from choice plots on the plateau north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it is vinified in concrete vats to retain purity and structure. On the nose, it delivers explosive aromatics of ripe black raspberry, dark cherry, dried herbs, candied orange zest, licorice, and dusty earth. The palate is rich, plush, and seamlessly balanced, offering generous dark fruit layers, velvety tannins, and a long, peppery finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, grilled duck breast, venison, and aged cheeses like Comté.

A step up from the regular cuvée is Durieu's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Lucile Avril, mainly old-vine Grenache, with just 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah. Also made and aged in concrete, it delivers layers of black cherries, dusty earth and dried spices on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple and creamy-textured, and hints of licorice and peppery spice appear on the lengthy finish.
