Domaine de la Solitude Vin de la Solitude

Crafted in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley of France, Domaine de la Solitude Châteauneuf-du-Pape 'Vin de la Solitude' is an extraordinary, rare prestige cuvée that resurrects a historic 18th-century winemaking tradition. Created by vigneron Florent Lançon, this landmark wine is modeled directly on ancestral estate blends recorded in family archives from the 1700s—long before modern AOC rules restricted varietal proportions. Sourced from ultra-old vines rooted in classic quartzite galets roulés and stony clay soils, the wine co-ferments all 13 traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties (including Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Muscardin, Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, and white varieties like Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Roussanne). Hand-harvested and vinified using whole clusters in concrete vats with gentle extraction, the wine matures for 18 to 24 months in neutral demi-muids, foudres, and stoneware amphorae. Bottled in an authentic 18th-century replica bottle with a wax seal, 'Vin de la Solitude' is widely considered one of the most intellectually compelling, complex, and age-worthy expressions in the entire appellation.

Food Pairing: Serve on its own as an extraordinary collector's tasting experience, or pair with roasted rack of lamb, venison tenderloin, wild boar ragù, braised beef short ribs, roasted duck breast, and aged French cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
