About the Domaine de Baronarques 2015
Crafted in the Limoux region of Languedoc-Roussillon, France, Domaine de Baronarques 2015 is a magnificent, prestigious red blend produced under the ownership of Baron Philippe de Rothschild (owners of First Growth Château Mouton Rothschild). Acquired in 1998 by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her sons, Domaine de Baronarques gained AOC Limoux status for its red wines, merging Bordeaux winemaking nobility with the warm, sun-drenched terroir of Southern France. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards benefiting from a unique climate where Atlantic cool breezes meet Mediterranean sunshine, the 2015 blend is led by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Hand-harvested and strictly sorted, the fruit underwent traditional temperature-controlled fermentation before maturing for 12 to 14 months in fine French oak barrels (25% to 30% new) sourced directly from the cooperage at Château Mouton Rothschild. The outstanding 2015 vintage showcases a perfect harmony between rich black fruit density, Mediterranean spice, and aristocratic Bordeaux structure.
Food Pairing: Grilled ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb with herbs de Provence, pan-seared duck breast, venison stew, braised short ribs, coq au vin, and hard aged cheeses like Comté, Cantal, or Gouda.
