About the Domaine d’Argenson Cote de Brouilly Futs de Chene
Crafted in the famed Beaujolais region of France, Domaine d'Argenson Brouilly 'Fûts de Chêne' is an exceptional, oak-aged expression of Gamay from the southernmost Cru of Beaujolais. Produced by the historic estate Domaine d'Argenson, this cuvée stands apart from traditional light Beaujolais by combining vibrant Cru fruit purity with extended maturation in French oak barrels (fûts de chêne). Sourced from old Gamay vines rooted in Brouilly’s signature pink granite, blue stone (météorite), and alluvial soils, the low-yielding fruit achieves outstanding concentration. Hand-harvested and sorted, the grapes undergo traditional semi-carbonic maceration before aging in French oak casks. This patient barrel maturation softens the wine’s natural structure, weaving delicate oak spice, vanilla, and subtle toast into the vibrant red berry and granite-driven core.
Food Pairing: Roast chicken with herbs, duck breast, pork tenderloin with plum reduction, charcuterie boards with terrines and saucisson sec, roasted lamb chops, and semi-hard cheeses such as Comté, Saint-Nectaire, or Brie.
