Domaine Fontaine Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru Les Vergers

Crafted in the prestigious Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Vergers' is an exceptional, highly sought-after Premier Cru white Burgundy produced by the historic Gagnard family estate. Situated on the northern side of Chassagne-Montrachet bordering Saint-Aubin, the renowned Les Vergers Premier Cru vineyard sits on mid-slope clay-limestone soils rich in pebbles and chalk. Managed by Céline Fontaine, the estate focuses on traditional, low-intervention viticulture that emphasizes soil vitality and pristine fruit purity. Hand-harvested and meticulously sorted, the Chardonnay grapes undergo gentle pneumatic pressing followed by indigenous yeast fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine matures on its fine lees in cellars for approximately 12 to 18 months, utilizing roughly 30% new French oak, striking a flawless balance between rich textural volume, refined oak spice, and piercing mineral drive.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared sea scallops, butter-poached lobster, roast Bresse chicken with tarragon cream sauce, grilled salmon, wild mushroom risotto, and artisanal French cheeses such as Époisses or aged Comté.
