About the Diamond Creek Mixed Pack 2021 6 x 750ml
The Diamond Creek Mixed 6 Pack 2021 is an exclusive collection of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from one of Napa Valley's most historic estates. The 2021 vintage was heavily impacted by drought, resulting in the lowest overall yields in over a decade. These smaller berries produced wines of remarkable concentration and depth. This specific mixed case typically contains two bottles of each of the estate's primary vineyard designates: Volcanic Hill, Red Rock Terrace, and Gravelly Meadow.
Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
99 Points - James Suckling
Amazing aromas of red currants, blackcurrants, lavender and violets, as well as some black ink and graphite. The tannins are totally integrated into the wine. They are melted into the fruit, giving a tension and magic that is seldom seen. It goes on for minutes. Tight at the end. A blend of 97% cabernet sauvignon and 7% petit verdot. It’s just a baby, but you’ll want to drink it already. Better after 2029.
97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill is a 313-case blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. Scents of crushed stone accent plummy, black cherry fruit on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate includes some cooling overtones to the dark fruit. Ripe, silky and long on the finish, it expresses Napa fruit while remaining supremely elegant.
Diamond Creek Red Rock Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
97 Points - James Suckling
The red currant, red rose, bark and mushroom character comes through on the nose. Graphite undertones and a medium to full body with very fine tannins that are silky textured in nature. Creamy, friendly, transparent and vivid. Mostly cabernet sauvignon with some petite verdot and malbec. Needs three or four years to come around.
95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% each Malbec and Petit Verdot, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace features a dusting of dried spices over a bed of mixed red and black cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, firmly structured but ripe. Yes, the cherries and red raspberries on the lingering finish are coated in dusty tannins, but the wine is still not completely unapproachable.
Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Gravelly Meadow includes 16% Merlot and 8% Malbec. It's a red-fruited effort, with bright cherries complemented by some herbal notes. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, silky textured and elegant, with hints of toasty oak and red berries lingering on the finish. Not particularly tannic, it should be approachable within a few years and drink well for at least 10 to 15 years after that. At just 267 cases produced, it's the smallest production of the three single-vineyard wines this year.
