Domaine de la Denante Saint Veran Les Maillettes

Crafted in the famed Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy, France, Domaine de la Denante Saint-Véran 'Les Maillettes' is an exceptional, terroir-driven white Burgundy produced by the Martin family in Davayé. Sourced from a renowned single vineyard parcel named Les Maillettes, the old Chardonnay vines are planted on steep, sunny slopes composed of Jurassic clay-limestone soils rich in fossilized marine life. Hand-harvested at peak ripeness, the fruit undergoes gentle pneumatic pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. To achieve an optimal balance between crisp freshness and velvety depth, a portion of the wine is aged in neutral French oak barrels while the remaining portion matures in stainless steel vats on fine lees for 10 to 12 months. The result is an expressive Saint-Véran that combines ripe orchard fruit, delicate white floral notes, and a striking beam of chalky minerality.
