About the Champagne Delamotte Brut
Champagne Delamotte Brut is an exceptionally elegant, fresh, and beautifully balanced non-vintage Champagne crafted by one of the oldest historic houses in the region, sister to the legendary House of Salon. Sourced primarily from the chalky soils of Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs, this cuvée combines the precision of Chardonnay with the structure and roundness of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Cool-fermented entirely in stainless steel and aged on its fine lees for roughly 36 months, it reveals a brilliant light golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The highly expressive nose opens with radiant aromas of fresh citrus zest, lemon peel, and white blossoms, layered with complex nuances of toasted brioche, fresh bread, and crushed chalk. On the palate, it delivers a clean, mouth-filling core of orchard fruits and grapefruit, seamlessly balanced by a driving line of mineral-toned acidity and a soft, pillowy texture that leads into a crisp, remarkably refreshing, and long finish.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, steamed shellfish, light seafood salads, crispy potato chips, or elegant fruit desserts.
James Suckling
Honey, pastries, lemons and grapefruit on the nose, followed by a silky, creamy and medium-bodied palate. Fresh and balanced, with soft bubbles and gentle honey notes to close. 60% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir and 5% meunier. Based on 2020 with 15% reserve wines.
Wine Spectator
This graceful Champagne is fine and creamy on the palate, with delicate notes of Gala apple, baked white peach, preserved lemon and white blossoms enmeshed with a rich underpinning of toasted brioche and smoked almond that lingers on the finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut is especially charming, bursting with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, peach and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it's a fleshy, giving wine that's ample and pliant, with a pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined finish.
Wine Enthusiast
An attractively dry Champagne that highlights its mineral texture as much as its ripe white fruits, this is tense, with a fine bite of acidity. The bottling is young and the wine needs to soften for the full experience.
