Finca Decero Remolinos Vineyard Mini Ediciones Petit Verdot 2021 is a highly distinct, small-batch single-vineyard red wine that highlights the incredible potential of this traditionally blending grape when showcased entirely on its own. Sourced from preferred low-vigour plots within the high-altitude, 3,500-foot Remolinos Vineyard in Alto Agrelo, the vines are meticulously tended to produce less than one bottle per vine. In the glass, it presents an opaque, inky purple hue. The aromatically intense nose opens with an expressive basket of sour cherries, baked blueberries, and wild blackberries, beautifully intertwined with complex undertones of fresh tobacco, dried lavender, roasted nuts, and a touch of graphite. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied, robust, and tightly packed, balancing its concentrated dark fruit core with a vibrant, lifting line of natural acidity. Structured with fine-grained, gripping mountain tannins and a judicious integration of French oak maturation, it leaves a dense, energetic finish showing hints of cocoa dust and subtle baking spices.
