About the Darroze Collection Unique Domaine de Rieston 2004 Bas-Armagnac
Darroze Collection Unique Domaine de Rieston 2004 Bas-Armagnac is a vintage Armagnac from Domaine de Rieston in Perquie, selected by Darroze for its Collection Unique. Produced by Jean-Luc Deyres entirely from Baco grapes, it was continuously distilled in 2004 and matured in regional oak before bottling at 50% ABV. It displays a distinctive terroir-driven character combining subtle oak, cigar box, leather and warming spices with rounded tannins and the intense, complex character associated with Baco.
Food Pairing: Duck confit, roasted game, aged Comté, walnut tart, gingerbread, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, and mature hard cheeses.
Tasting Notes: Bright gold with brown reflections, complex and characterful, balancing subtle wood with cigar-box notes, leather and warming spice.
Nose: Subtly woody with cigar box, leather, liquorice and nutmeg.
Palate: Intense and complex with rounded tannins, showing the distinctive character of mature Baco-based Armagnac.
Finish: Long and persistent, with lingering spice, leather and mature oak character.
