Darroze Collection Unique Chateau de la Pouche 1984 Armagnac-Tenareze

Darroze Collection Unique Chateau de la Pouche 1984 Armagnac-Tenareze is a vintage Armagnac originating from Château de la Pouche in Lagraulet-du-Gers and selected by Darroze for its Collection Unique. Produced by André Maurel entirely from Baco grapes, the spirit was distilled in 1984 and matured in regional oak before bottling at 49.5% ABV. Expressive and mature, it combines walnut, gingerbread, liquorice, tobacco and leather with a fresher mentholated dimension, followed by quince preserve, dried fig and beautifully integrated tannins.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared foie gras, duck confit, aged Comté, quince tart, dried figs, gingerbread, walnut cake, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts.

Tasting Notes: Golden with brown highlights, full and expressive with mature nuts, spice, tobacco and leather balanced by fresher mentholated nuances and concentrated fruit.

Nose: Walnut, gingerbread, liquorice, tobacco and leather, developing fresher lightly mentholated aromas with aeration.

Palate: Full and beautifully balanced, with integrated alcohol and tannins surrounding quince preserve, liquorice and dried fig.

Finish: Exceptionally long and persistent, carrying mature fruit, liquorice, spice and fine tannic structure.
