About the Darroze 1976 Armagnac
Darroze 1976 Armagnac is a vintage French Armagnac distilled in 1976 and selected and matured by the Darroze family as part of its long-standing focus on individual estate and vintage expressions. Extended oak maturation gives the spirit a deeply developed character, combining mature fruit, dried fruit, warming spice, toasted nuances and the complex rancio associated with long-aged Armagnac. Because multiple Darroze 1976 estate bottlings exist, estate-specific details should only be assigned once the exact Alberta SKU is confirmed.
Food Pairing: Duck confit, foie gras, aged Comté, dried figs, apricot tart, gingerbread, toasted walnuts, crème brûlée, and dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Mature and characterful, with concentrated fruit, warming spice, toasted notes and developed rancio complexity.
Nose: Candied fruit and dried fruit with toasted bread, woodland nuances and warming spice.
Palate: Rich and structured with mature fruit, honeyed sweetness, spice and silky oak tannins.
Finish: Long and persistent, carrying dried fruit, spice, honey and mature oak.
