d'Arenberg The Conscious Biosphere Petite Sirah Aglianico

Crafted in the famed McLaren Vale region of South Australia, d'Arenberg 'The Conscious Biosphere' Petit Sirah Aglianico is an adventurous, highly distinctive red blend produced by fourth-generation chief winemaker Chester Osborn. True to d'Arenberg's eccentric and eco-conscious philosophy, the name celebrates the complex living eco-system of the vineyard's soil and atmosphere. This unique bottling marries two robust, thick-skinned grape varieties: Petit Sirah (Durif), known for its ink-like color, intense dark fruit, and firm tannin structure, alongside Aglianico, Southern Italy’s noble red grape renowned for vibrant acidity, savory minerality, and brooding depth. Sourced from sustainably managed, organically farmed vineyards planted in ancient McLaren Vale soils, the hand-picked fruit is basket-pressed and foot-trodden in classic d'Arenberg tradition. The wine matures in a combination of seasoned French and American oak barrels to integrate its powerful structural components without masking its lively, dark-fruited intensity.

Food Pairing: Braised beef short ribs, slow-roasted lamb shank, wild boar ragù, grilled ribeye steak, aged hard cheeses like Manchego or sharp Cheddar, and hearty venison stew.
