About the The Standish Shiraz 2016
A profound Barossa Shiraz with concentrated blackberry, blueberry and plum layered with violets, spice, earth and savoury mineral tones. The palate is powerful yet composed, delivering dense fruit, firm fine-grained tannins and impressive freshness before an exceptionally long, structured finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with grilled ribeye, slow-roasted lamb, braised beef, venison, barbecue meats, rich mushroom dishes, or mature hard cheeses.
99 Points - Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
Dan's 2016 The Standish Shiraz comes from a vineyard in the Greenock subregion. It's inky in color, loaded with plum, blueberry and raspberry fruit. Full-bodied, creamy-textured and rich, it's intense, concentrated and long beyond belief, picking up hints of licorice along the way. Nearly embryonic, it will need at least a couple of years to show more than the primary fruit.
