About the The Dalmore Luminary No.3 2025 Edition 17 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Dalmore Luminary No.3 2025 Edition is an exceptional 17 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky that celebrates the harmony between architectural innovation and masterful whisky making. Created in collaboration with V&A Dundee and acclaimed architect Ben Dobbin of Foster + Partners, this limited edition brings together the expertise of Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass and Master Distiller Richard Paterson OBE. Initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, the whisky undergoes an intricate finishing process involving seven carefully selected cask styles, including vintage and aged Calvados, rare Matusalem and Apostoles Sherry, and red wine casks from Bordeaux and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Limited to 20,000 bottles worldwide, this remarkable expression is presented in a bespoke architectural case designed to reflect the creativity and precision behind the whisky.
Food Pairing: Beautifully complements apple tarte tatin, dark chocolate truffles, caramelized pear desserts, roasted almonds and aged hard cheeses. Its orchard fruit character and warming spice also pair elegantly with roasted duck and fruit-based sauces.
Tasting Notes: A richly layered and beautifully balanced Highland single malt, showcasing vibrant orchard fruits, creamy butterscotch, aromatic spices, dark cacao and refined oak influence. The intricate combination of Calvados, Sherry and red wine casks delivers remarkable complexity and a distinctive fruit-forward character.
Nose: Vibrant orchard fruits unfold alongside Madagascan vanilla and warming cinnamon, complemented by delicate floral notes of rose water.
Palate: Rich butterscotch, ripe red apples and classic tarte tatin develop into layers of dark cacao, liquorice and gentle wood spices, elevated by cardamom, Seville oranges and subtle green tea.
Finish: Elegant and lingering, with dried apricots, ripe blackberries and freshly baked brioche, followed by a soft, warming impression of cassia bark.
