Crafted in the breathtaking hills of southern Tuscany, Donatella Cinelli Colombini 'Cenerentola' Orcia DOC is an extraordinary, organically farmed red wine produced at Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda. The estate is historically renowned as Italy’s first all-female winery, led by pioneering vintner Donatella Cinelli Colombini. Meaning "Cinderella," Cenerentola pays tribute to the young Orcia DOC appellation—a hidden gem nestled between two famous step-sisters, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. This unique blend pairs Tuscany's signature Sangiovese with Foglia Tonda, an ancient indigenous Tuscan grape variety revived from near extinction by Donatella. Grown on clay-limestone hillsides at 404 meters above sea level, the hand-harvested grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks before undergoing aging for 12 to 18 months in French oak tonneaux and barriques, followed by barrel refinement in large oak casks. The result is a bold, velvety red that seamlessly balances Sangiovese’s vibrant structure with Foglia Tonda’s plush tannins and dark fruit richness.
