Cuvee Gancia 18 Mesi Brut

Crafted in the high-altitude hills of Southern Piedmont, Italy, Gancia '18 Mesi' Alta Langa DOCG Metodo Classico Brut is an exquisite, traditional-method sparkling wine that highlights the historic winemaking legacy of Casa Gancia—the winery that pioneered Italian sparkling wine in 1865. The Alta Langa DOCG designation represents Piedmont’s premier sparkling region, where vineyards are strictly planted at high elevations (over 250 meters) on steep clay-limestone slopes to maintain bright natural acidity and vibrant aromatic freshness. Produced from a blend of Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) providing structure, body, and red fruit complexity, alongside Chardonnay for elegance, floral aromatics, and fine acidity, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. In strict accordance with the Metodo Classico (traditional secondary fermentation in the bottle), the wine matures on its lees in historic underground chalk cellars for a minimum of 18 months (18 Mesi) before disgorgement and a balanced Brut dosage, resulting in a sparkling wine of remarkable finesse, fine effervescence, and autolytic complexity.

Food Pairing: Fresh oysters on the half shell, seared sea scallops, prosciutto di Parma, vegetable tempura, grilled prawns, mushroom risotto, and creamy cheeses such as Robiola di Roccaverano or Fontina.
