Yves Cuilleron Condrieu Lieu Dit Vernon

Crafted in the Northern Rhône Valley of France, Yves Cuilleron Condrieu 'Lieu-Dit Vernon' is a world-class, iconic expression of Viognier from one of the appellation's most revered hillside vineyards. Yves Cuilleron, a pioneer of modern Northern Rhône winemaking, produces this cuvée from ancient vines planted on dramatic, southwest-facing terraced slopes composed of broken granite and mica-schist soils (chaillets). Hand-harvested at peak aromatic maturity, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and indigenous yeast fermentation in French oak barriques. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months on its fine lees with regular bâtonnage (stirring) in oak barrels (a combination of new and neutral oak) to build luxurious textural weight without obscuring its intense mineral drive. The result is a opulent, highly perfumed, and profoundly structured white wine that showcases why Condrieu is considered the ultimate expression of Viognier worldwide.
