About the Croft Reserve Tawny Porto
Crafted in Portugal’s historic Douro Valley, Croft Reserve Tawny Port is a luxurious, wood-aged fortified wine produced by Croft, one of the oldest and most distinguished Port houses, founded in 1588. Blended from selected reserve wines matured in seasoned oak casks, this bottling draws upon grapes cultivated in the terraced vineyards of the Douro, including Croft's iconic Quinta da Roeda estate. Traditional indigenous Portuguese grape varieties—including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca—undergo controlled fermentation and fortification with grape spirit before beginning an extended aging regimen in neutral oak pipes. Through slow micro-oxygenation over up to 7 years in barrel, the wine sheds its vibrant ruby hues and develops a silky amber-tawny color along with signature notes of dried fruits, toasted nuts, and warm baking spices. Ready to enjoy immediately upon opening, Croft Reserve Tawny offers an exquisite balance of rich sweetness, wood-matured complexity, and vibrant freshness.
Food Pairing: Pecan pie, creme brûlée, salted caramel desserts, toasted almonds, dark chocolate tarts, dried fruits, duck liver pate, and aged cheeses like Stilton, Manchego, or sharp Cheddar.
