Crafted in the Cima Corgo heartland of Portugal's Douro Valley, Croft Quinta da Roeda Vintage Port 2002 is a distinguished single-quinta vintage Port produced by Croft, one of the oldest and most illustrious Port houses founded in 1588. Known as the "gem of the Douro," the Quinta da Roeda estate sits along the northern bank of the Douro River near Pinhão, featuring steep south-facing terraces planted with ancient stone-walled vines. In non-declared general vintage years, Croft produces single-estate Vintage Ports exclusively from Quinta da Roeda to capture the unique, rich microclimate of this premier vineyard. Composed of traditional indigenous Portuguese varieties—Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca—the grapes are foot-trodden in traditional granite lagares to maximize extraction of color, tannin, and fruit character before fortification with fine grape spirit. Aged in oak vats before bottling, this mature 2002 vintage displays luscious black fruit richness, exotic spice, and seamless, velvety depth.
