Croft Brandy

Produced by the house of Croft (originally established in 1588 and celebrated as one of the oldest Port houses in Portugal), Croft Brandy is a landmark Portuguese grape spirit with deep heritage. Crafted from a selection of high-quality wine distillates, the spirit undergoes double distillation before being matured in seasoned oak casks in Vila Nova de Gaia. What distinguishes Croft Brandy is its finishing period in oak casks that previously held Croft Port wines. This Port barrel finish imparts a distinct ruby-amber hue, a soft velvety mouthfeel, and a rich layer of dried red fruit, toasted almond, and subtle oak wood notes.

Food Pairing: Traditional Portuguese pastries (Pastéis de Nata), roasted almonds, dark chocolate, cured hard cheeses, or served alongside a hot espresso (bica).

Tasting Notes: Clear, warm topaz-amber with reddish copper highlights, a smooth medium body, and clean legs.

Nose: Rich, sweet, and fruit-forward, opening with toasted almonds, dark caramel, and dried fruits (raisins, dried figs), followed by vanilla and sweet Port wood oak.

Palate: Smooth, rounded, and dry on the palate, featuring caramelized sugar and ripe grape nectar upfront before unfolding into soft oak tannins, dried red fruit, toasted nut, and subtle vanilla.

Finish: Medium in length, clean, and warm with lingering notes of sweet dried fruit, subtle Port wood spice, and gentle warmth.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a balloon glass or tulip snifter as a traditional digestif, over ice, or as an aromatic base spirit for classic cocktails.
