Distilled on April 13, 1993, it was initially matured for roughly 25 years in refill and re-charred ex-Bourbon casks before being finished for nearly two years in French Sauternes wine casks. The nose is opulent and tropical, offering hoards of syrupy tinned pineapple, ripe peaches, and apricots, layered with creamy vanilla and a honeyed richness. On the palate, it reveals a luscious and supple mouthfeel with notes of fruitcake, apricot jam, and custard, while the Sauternes influence adds a delicate citrus glaze. The finish is long and supple, lingering with honey, light oak spice, and a gentle echo of dried orchard fruits.
