Domaine Ponsot Corton Grand Cru Cuvee du Bourdon 1.5L Magnum

Crafted in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Ponsot Corton Grand Cru 'Cuvée du Bourdon' is a monumental, highly revered red Grand Cru produced by the legendary estate Domaine Ponsot. Renowned for its uncompromisingly traditional philosophy and innovative stewardship, Domaine Ponsot crafts this rare cuvée from old Pinot Noir vines grown on the mid-slope limestone terraces of the iconic Hill of Corton. Following the domain’s historic winemaking traditions, the grapes are harvested late at optimal maturity, fermented with native yeasts in neutral open-top oak vats without temperature control, and aged exclusively in neutral oak barrels (often decades old) with zero new oak influence. Named Cuvée du Bourdon ("Bumblebee Cuvée") in homage to the estate’s signature nature-inspired naming tradition, this wine expresses the raw power, intense earthiness, and muscular structure characteristic of Corton Grand Cru, harmonized by pure fruit clarity and immense cellaring potential.

Food Pairing: Roasted venison loin with juniper berries, braised wild boar ragù, prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, duck confit, wild mushroom tart, and aged Epoisses or Comté cheese.
