About the Cortes de Cima Chamine Tinto 5L Jeroboam
Crafted in the sun-drenched Alentejo region of southern Portugal, Cortes de Cima 'Chaminé' is an iconic, vibrant red wine produced by the family-owned estate Cortes de Cima. Founded by Danish-American couple Carrie and Hans Kristian Jorgensen, the estate is renowned for introducing Syrah to the region alongside native Portuguese varietals. Named after the estate's historic whitewashed chimney (chaminé), this cuvée combines Syrah, Aragonez (Tinta Roriz), Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, and Alicante Bousquet sourced from sustainably farmed, warm Mediterranean vineyards. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve pure, exuberant fruit character, a portion of the blend receives light oak contact for added complexity and roundness. Housed in a massive 5L Jeroboam format, this large-format bottle makes an extraordinary centerpiece for major celebrations, gathering events, and special cellars.
Food Pairing: Portuguese grilled piri-piri chicken, braised pork shoulder, BBQ ribs, charbroiled steaks, lamb stew, cured charcuterie meats, and semi-hard sheep's milk cheeses like Queijo de Azeitão.
