The Cooper's Choice North British 17 Year Old 2006 Cask #4358 Oloroso Sherry Finish

The Cooper's Choice North British 17 Year Old 2006 is a limited-edition Lowland single grain Scotch whisky distilled at North British Distillery in Edinburgh and independently bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. Distilled in June 2006 and bottled in January 2024, this expression matured in American oak before receiving an Oloroso sherry cask finish. Bottled at 52% ABV from cask #4358, with only 246 bottles produced, it combines the smooth character of mature grain whisky with dark fruit, chocolate, honey and warming oak spice. Presented at natural colour and without chill filtration, it offers a distinctive single-cask expression.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with dark chocolate truffles, toasted walnuts, aged Gouda, roasted almonds, sticky toffee pudding and dried-fruit cake. Its Oloroso sherry influence also complements caramelized pears and nutty desserts.

Tasting Notes: A mature Lowland single grain Scotch whisky featuring dark chocolate, chestnut honey, raisins, spiced oak, walnuts and brown sugar, with a rich sherry-influenced character and lingering spice.

Nose: Dark chocolate, chestnut honey and raisins create an inviting combination of richness and sweetness.

Palate: Spiced oak and walnuts develop alongside brown sugar, delivering a layered balance of sweetness and warming spice.
