The Cooper's Choice Inchgower 13 Year Old 2011 Cask #803816 Calvados Finish

The Cooper's Choice Inchgower 13 Year Old 2011 is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Inchgower Distillery and independently bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024, this single-cask expression was initially matured in American oak before receiving a finish in a Calvados cask. Bottled at 51.5% ABV from cask #803816, with only 300 bottles released, it combines Inchgower's distinctive coastal character with the orchard-fruit influence of French apple brandy maturation.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with aged Gouda, apple tart, pork tenderloin, buttery shortbread, roasted almonds and salted caramel desserts. Its fruit-forward profile also complements baked pears and mature hard cheeses.

Tasting Notes: A fruit-driven Speyside single malt featuring crisp orchard fruits, vanilla, honey, gentle caramel sweetness and warming spices, balanced by a subtle coastal salinity and fresh apple character from the Calvados cask finish.

Nose: Fresh green apples, ripe pears and white peach mingle with delicate honey, vanilla and subtle peppery spice.

Palate: An oily, rounded texture carries apple and pear notes alongside sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and gentle spice, with a lightly savoury coastal character.

Finish: Lingering orchard fruit gives way to ginger, soft spice and a slightly tart, gently saline finish.
