About the Continuum Estate Red - Library Case 2012/2013 6x750ml
Continuum Estate Red - Library Case 2012/13 6x750ml is an extraordinary, highly collectible library release from Continuum Estate featuring cellared, estate-grown red wines from Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley. Offered as a 6-bottle case containing exactly 3 bottles of the 2012 vintage and 3 bottles of the 2013 vintage, this collection showcases two benchmark years for the winery. Cabernet-dominant with supporting Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, these wines display profound depth, seamless tannins, and remarkable aging potential. In the glass, they offer intense aromas of dark plum, crème de cassis, graphite, dried lavender, and subtle cocoa. On the palate, they deliver powerful mid-palate density, structural precision, and a savory iron minerality, finishing with incredible length and refined elegance.
Food Pairing: Pairs magnificently with roasted rack of lamb, thick-cut grilled ribeye steak, slow-braised venison, and rich wild mushroom risotto.
2012 Vintage Ratings:
97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
This is the first year that this wine was made from 100% estate-grown fruit from Continuum’s Sage Mountain vineyard. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2012 Proprietary Red has a deep garnet-purple color and gorgeous crème de cassis, exotic spices, fragrant earth and Christmas pudding notions with touches of chocolate box and licorice. The palate is full-bodied and deliciously concentrated, with a firm, grainy-textured backbone supporting the impressive mid-palate density, finishing very long and harmonious.

98 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
One of the best vintages of this wine, the 2013 Proprietary Red remains remarkably primary, offering up scents of mint, bay leaf, tobacco and ripe cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant but also firm, energetic and long on the finish. Give it another couple of years in the cellar if you can, and enjoy it over the next two decades.
