Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Glentauchers 23 Year Old 2000 Cask #16602001

Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Glentauchers 23 Year Old 2000 Cask #16602001 is an exceptional single cask Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2023 exclusively for Kensington Wine Market. Matured for 23 years in a first-fill sherry hogshead, this limited release showcases the rich character of Glentauchers through layers of dark fruit, chocolate, festive spices and mature oak. Bottled at natural cask strength of 55.8% ABV, without added colour or chill filtration, it offers a beautifully concentrated expression of long-aged, sherry-matured Speyside whisky.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with dark chocolate truffles, aged Gouda, roasted hazelnuts, dried figs, rich fruitcake and sticky toffee pudding. Its pronounced sherry character also complements caramelized mushrooms, roasted meats and desserts featuring orange zest or warm baking spices.

Tasting Notes: A rich and full-bodied Speyside single malt with stewed fruits, dark chocolate, blackcurrants, vanilla fudge and aromatic festive spices. The first-fill sherry hogshead contributes depth and sweetness, balanced by warming oak and citrus.

Nose: Sweet stewed fruits mingle with dark chocolate and vibrant festive spices, creating an inviting, richly layered aroma.

Palate: Ripe blackcurrants develop into creamy vanilla fudge and sweet sultanas, with generous fruit richness and warming spice.

Finish: Full and spicy, with lingering citrus fruits and a warming, elegant conclusion.
