Compass Box Architectonics Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Compass Box Architectonics is a limited-edition Blended Malt Scotch Whisky created in collaboration with La Maison du Whisky for its 2024 Foundations collection. Inspired by the beauty and precision of nineteenth-century industrial architecture, this expression brings together richly matured sherry-cask single malt, smoky Islay malt and sweeter, fruit-forward whiskies matured in bourbon casks. The result is a carefully constructed Scotch whisky that balances rich fruit, warming spice, elegant oak and distinctive peat smoke. Bottled at 49% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration, Architectonics celebrates the craftsmanship of whisky blending through an intricate and expressive flavour experience.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with aged Gouda, smoked cheddar, roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate and dried fruit desserts. Its combination of sherry richness and smoky malt also complements grilled lamb, roasted mushrooms and spiced fruitcake.

Tasting Notes: A layered and expressive blended malt combining sherry-influenced richness, sweet orchard fruits, warming spices and gently smoky Islay character. Bourbon-cask sweetness adds vanilla and soft oak complexity to its balanced profile.

Nose: Inviting aromas of dried fruit, baked apple, vanilla and warming oak spice, complemented by delicate peat smoke and subtle sherry sweetness.

Palate: Rich and rounded, revealing sweet malt, ripe orchard fruits, vanilla and dried fruit. Layers of baking spice, toasted oak and gentle Islay smoke create depth and complexity.

Finish: Lingering and warming, with soft smoke, dried fruit sweetness, gentle spice and refined oak notes.
