About the Vallein Tercinier Lot 83 1983 Petite Champagne Cognac
Vallein Tercinier Lot 83 1983 Petite Champagne Cognac is a rare single-cask, cask-strength Cognac from the Petite Champagne cru. Distilled in 1983 and matured in French oak Cask #0228, it was bottled in 2023 at 50.4% ABV as a limited release of 570 bottles. Presented at natural colour and without chill filtration, Lot 83 shows a rich, rounded profile built around citrus, yellow and exotic fruits, candied fruit, and mature nutty complexity.
Food Pairing: Foie gras with pear compote, roast duck, aged Comté, baked Brie, almond tart, poached pears, mango desserts, toasted nuts, and dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Rich, rounded and complex, combining citrus and ripe yellow fruit with candied and exotic fruit, a gently buttery texture, and toasted, nutty depth.
Nose: Generous and fruity with citrus, pear, mango and candied fruit, carried by a soft, velvety aromatic character.
Palate: Complex and unctuous with a lightly buttery texture and expressive notes of mango, exotic fruit and candied fruit.
Finish: Fine, long and toasted, with persistent nutty notes providing a mature, lingering conclusion.
