Malternative #30 La Decouverte Marie Foucher 46 Year Old 1977 Lot 77 Cognac is a rare independently bottled Fins Bois Cognac selected by Malternative Belgium from the stocks of Marie Foucher. Distilled in Foussignac in 1977 from Ugni Blanc, this Cognac matured for 46 years in French oak before being selected by Malternative Belgium. Bottled at natural cask strength of 51.74% ABV in April 2024, the release was limited to only 396 bottles. Its mature yet energetic profile combines concentrated fruit and floral character with citrus, mango, beeswax, leather, tobacco, chocolate and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Aged Comte, roasted duck, orange-glazed pork, mango tart, dried apricots, toasted almonds, dark chocolate, and mature hard cheeses.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and layered, with concentrated ripe fruit, floral notes, citrus, wax, leather, tobacco and spice.

Nose: Ripe cooked fruit and floral aromas with apricot, grape, vanilla, tobacco, tea, milk chocolate and liquorice.

Palate: Vibrant citrus led by orange and grapefruit, followed by mango, beeswax, leather, tobacco, chocolate, tea and fine woody notes.

Finish: Medium-long and layered, with returning fruit, balanced spice and lingering mature wood.
