Malternative #33 Temps Magique Francois Voyer Lot 19.20 Grande Champagne Cognac

Malternative #33 Temps Magique Francois Voyer Lot 19.20 Grande Champagne Cognac is an extraordinarily rare independent bottling selected by Malternative Belgium from the old stocks of Francois Voyer. Produced from Ugni Blanc in Grande Champagne, this ancient Cognac spent many years maturing in French oak before being transferred to a demijohn for preservation. It was eventually bottled in July 2024 at cask strength of 43.8% ABV, with an exceptionally small release of only 42 bottles. Deeply mature and remarkably complex, it combines dried and overripe fruit with old leather, tobacco, walnuts, dark chocolate, rancio and polished wood.

Food Pairing: Aged Comte, foie gras, roasted duck, dried figs, toasted walnuts, dark chocolate, truffle dishes, and mature hard cheeses.

Tasting Notes: Exceptionally mature, layered and complex, combining ripe and dried fruit with nuts, dark chocolate, tobacco, earthy nuances and pronounced rancio.

Nose: Old leather, tobacco, overripe persimmon, papaya and dried fruit with toasted nuts, walnuts, truffle and pronounced rancio.

Palate: Roasted and sweetened nuts, dark chocolate and dried figs with powerful rancio, ripe fruit and a finely balanced interplay of sweetness and acidity.

Finish: Long, rich and silky with persistent mature fruit, rancio and aged complexity.
