About the Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc delivering the classic precision and expressive aromatic depth that redefined New Zealand winemaking. Visually gleaming with a pale straw color and faint green reflections, the exceptionally lifted nose bursts with a complex bouquet of ruby grapefruit, zesty Key lime, lemongrass, and fresh passion fruit, grounded by subtle notes of elderflower and crushed stone minerals. On the palate, this medium-bodied white is remarkably sleek, fresh, and focused, driving a succulent core of stone fruit and crunchy citrus flavors across a finely textured mouthfeel. Kept beautifully tense by a vitalizing line of mouthwatering lemon acidity and a delicate, signature salinity, it glides into a highly persistent, crisp finish showing lingering hints of green tea and fresh lime leaf.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with fresh oysters on the half shell, green lip mussels, goat cheese salads, or Thai prawn salad dressed with lemongrass and ginger.

The 2025 Sauvignon Blanc is fleshy and intense, as is the style of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, and there is enough savory extract and shape in the wine to elevate it beyond the norm. Here, we have grass clippings and brine, green olive tapenade, passion fruit and pineapple husk. The acidity is saline, and all elements work together toward a common goal. I recall, in context, this wine looking a little sweeter and fleshier than some of its regional peers, and yet here today in isolation, it looks tight, textural and composed. It's very good indeed. Cloudy Bay is a member of the Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW). 13% alcohol.
