About the Chateau Clos Manou Vignes de 1850
Crafted in the northern Médoc region on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, France, Clos Manou 'Cuvée 1850' is an extraordinarily rare, micro-cuvée bottling produced by Stéphane and Françoise Dief. This iconic wine is sourced from an ancient, pre-phylloxera single plot of ungrafted Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines originally planted in 1850. Practicing high-density, bio-precise viticulture on gravel-limestone soils, the estate hand-harvests and optically sorts the ultra-low-yield fruit. Vinified with gentle extraction in concrete and oak vats before aging in fine French oak, this cuvée offers unbelievable concentration, velvety depth, and multi-decade longevity.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, venison tenderloin, braised short ribs, and aged hard cheeses like Comté.
