About the Chateau Clos des Lunelles Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux
Crafted in the Castillon Côtés de Bordeaux appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château Clos des Lunelles is an exceptional estate owned and meticulously managed by Gérard Perse, the visionary owner of Premier Grand Cru Classé A Château Pavie. Situated on the highest point of the Sainte-Colombe limestone plateau—sharing the exact geological continuation of Saint-Émilion’s world-class limestone bench—the 8.5-hectare vineyard thrives in deep clay topsoils over solid asteria limestone. Dominated by old-vine Merlot complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit undergoes hand-sorting, cold maceration, and plot-by-plot vinification in temperature-controlled oak vats. Aged for 18 to 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, Clos des Lunelles delivers a rich, opulent, and densely structured wine with signature Pavie-like precision and intense limestone minerality.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, duck breast with berry reduction, and aged French cheeses like Comté or Saint-Nectaire.
