About the Chateau de la Tour Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru
Crafted in the famed Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, Château de la Tour Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is the undisputed flagship expression from the largest landholder within the iconic walled Clos de Vougeot vineyard. Produced exclusively from ancient Pinot Noir vines averaging over 70 years of age (with core parcels planted in 1910), this Vieilles Vignes bottling embodies the ultimate depth, power, and longevity of Grand Cru Burgundy. Managed organically by François Labet, the vines thrive in mid-slope limestone and clay soils directly adjacent to the historic château. Hand-harvested with 100% whole-cluster fermentation and aged in French oak barrels (50% new), this Grand Cru delivers extraordinary concentration, muscular structure, and multi-decade aging potential.
Food Pairing: Roasted duck breast, pan-seared venison tenderloin, rack of lamb, truffled wild mushroom risotto, coq au vin, and aged French cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
