About the Le Clarence de Haut Brion Pessac Leognan
Crafted in the famed Pessac-Léognan appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, France, Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is the official second wine of the legendary First Growth Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Haut-Brion. Formerly known as Château Bahans Haut-Brion, this prestigious bottling shares the exact same terroir, meticulous vineyard care, and elite winemaking team as its iconic sibling. Sourced from deep gravel terraces over clay-sand and limestone subsoils inside the city limits of Pessac, the vineyard is planted to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Matured in fine French oak barrels, Le Clarence de Haut-Brion delivers the classic gravel minerality, velvety texture, and soaring complexity of Haut-Brion at an accessible entry point.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, duck breast with berry reduction, and aged cheeses like Comté.
