About the Church & State Wines Estate Syrah Okanagan Valley
Crafted in the sun-drenched Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada, Church & State Wines Estate Syrah is a benchmark expression of Pacific Northwest winemaking. Sourced from the estate’s prized vineyard holdings on the Black Sage Bench in Oliver, the vines benefit from warm desert microclimates, long sunny days, and dramatic cool nights, yielding fruit with exceptional sugar development, crisp natural acidity, and intense aromatic concentration. Meticulously farmed and hand-harvested, the grapes undergo gentle fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before maturing for 12 to 15 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels. Church & State Wines has built a legendary national reputation for its bold Syrahs, consistently winning top awards at major international competitions. This bottling delivers a striking synthesis of rich dark berry fruit, savory cracked black pepper, smoked meat accents, and polished structure.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, grilled lamb chops, barbecue beef brisket, venison steak, roasted duck breast, pulled pork, and aged sharp cheddar or smoked Gouda cheeses.
