About the Chateau Puy Blanquet Saint Emilion Grand Cru
Crafted on the eastern slopes of Saint-Émilion in the Right Bank region of Bordeaux, France, Château Puy-Blanquet is a historic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate that benefits from elite winemaking stewardship led by the Moueix family (renowned for iconic properties such as Château Trotanoy and Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix). Situated on high-elevation clay-limestone soils, the 20-hectare vineyard is planted predominantly with old-vine Merlot, balanced by Cabernet Franc and a small touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate’s east-facing parcel orientation ensures gentle, even ripening while preserving natural freshness, floral aromatics, and vibrant acidity. Managed with traditional sustainable viticulture and hand-harvested with strict parcel sorting, the fruit undergoes gentle extraction in temperature-controlled vats before aging for 12 to 14 months in fine French oak barrels. Château Puy-Blanquet delivers a classical, elegant, and texturally refined Right Bank expression that offers remarkable value and early-to-medium-term drinking pleasure.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, pork tenderloin with berry reduction, wild mushroom ragù, and fine aged French cheeses like Comté or Gouda.
