About the Chateau Marsalette Pessac Leognan
Crafted in the esteemed Pessac-Léognan appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château Marsalette is an outstanding, highly acclaimed property co-owned by Count Stephan von Neipperg (the visionary force behind Canon La Gaffelière, La Mondotte, and Clos de l'Oratoire) and Didier Miqueu. Benefiting from Von Neipperg’s elite winemaking expertise and obsessive quality standards, the estate’s 12-hectare vineyard sits on deep Günzian gravel beds over a subsoil of marine clay, sand, and limestone in the commune of Martillac. Planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc along with Merlot, the vines produce fruit with remarkable depth, vibrant aromatics, and signature Graves smoky minerality. Hand-harvested and vinified with meticulous plot-by-plot precision in thermoregulated oak and concrete vats, the wine matures for 12 to 15 months in fine French oak barrels (approximately 30-40% new). Château Marsalette offers a refined, texturally plush, and expressive Graves red that delivers the sophisticated hallmarks of Pessac-Léognan at an accessible price point.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, pork tenderloin with berry reduction, wild mushroom ragù, and fine aged French cheeses like Comté or Saint-Nectaire.
