About the Chateau Larcis Ducasse Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classe 1.5L Magnum
Crafted on the famed Côte de Pavie in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château Larcis Ducasse Premier Grand Cru Classé Magnum (1.5L) is a historic, highly coveted blue-chip estate celebrated for its extraordinary terraced slopes and profound limestone purity. Managed with master precision by Nicolas Thienpont and world-renowned consulting oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt, the 11-hectare vineyard sits on a south-facing amphitheater of deep chalky limestone and clay terraces overlooking the Dordogne Valley. Dominated by old-vine Merlot supported by structured Cabernet Franc, the vines benefit from ideal solar exposure, natural water management, and deep limestone root penetration. Hand-harvested with multi-stage sorting, the grapes undergo gentle plot-by-plot vinification in temperature-controlled concrete vats before maturing for 16 to 18 months in fine French oak barrels (50% new). Presented in a 1.5L Magnum bottle, this larger format allows for slower, more harmonious evolution, driving magnificent floral aromatics, silky fruit concentration, and multi-decade cellaring capacity.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, venison tenderloin, duck breast with blackberry reduction, truffled mushroom risotto, and fine aged French cheeses like Comté or Saint-Nectaire.
