About the Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron Cru Bourgeois 2016
Château Lamothe-Bergeron Cru Bourgeois is a classic Haut-Médoc showcasing aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cassis, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and toasted oak. Concentrated fruit, polished tannins, lively acidity, and balanced oak deliver a refined, full-bodied wine with remarkable structure, elegance, and excellent aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pair with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised beef, duck breast, mushroom risotto, aged Gruyère, or herb-crusted pork tenderloin.
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
The rather grand château of this estate dates to the 19th century, a turreted affair very much in the Médoc tradition. The wine is classic as well, offering balanced acidity, black-currant fruit and a layer of tannins to support everything. The 30% new barrels have added to the wine's richness as well as giving a spicy aftertaste. Drink from 2022. Roger Voss.
91 Points - James Suckling
This has a plush array of fine tannins and delivers an impressively structured palate with assertive and lively tannins, carrying plush and elegant, red-berry flavors in fresh resolve. Try from 2021.
