About the Chateau La Chenade Lalande de Pomerol
Crafted in the famed Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château La Chenade is an exceptional red wine produced by the late, legendary winemaker Denis Durantou of Château L’Église-Clinet and now managed by his family. Sourced from gravel and clay terraces in Néac, adjacent to Pomerol, the vineyard is planted predominantly to Merlot along with Cabernet Franc. The gravelly topsoils impart striking floral aromatics and vibrant freshness, while the underlying clay subsoils lend fleshy depth, body, and supple tannins. Hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels. Château La Chenade offers a plush, refined Right Bank expression with immediate charm and remarkable quality-to-price ratio.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, pork tenderloin with plum reduction, wild mushroom ragù, roasted duck breast, and aged hard cheeses like Comté or Gouda.
