La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan

Crafted in the famed Pessac-Léognan appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, France, La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion is the esteemed second wine of the legendary Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Owned and managed by Domaine Clarence Dillon (the Prince Robert of Luxembourg family, who also owns neighboring First Growth Château Haut-Brion), this cuvée shares the exact same world-class gravelly terroir and meticulous winemaking team as its iconic grand vin. Named in honor of the 17th-century chapel built on the estate by Lazarite priests, the wine is produced from prized gravel, clay, and sand plots. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, balanced with a touch of Cabernet Franc, the wine undergoes plot-by-plot vinification and ages for 12 to 15 months in fine French oak barrels (approximately 40-50% new). La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion delivers the hallmark elegance, smoky gravel minerality, and plush black fruit concentration of its estate sibling, offering outstanding early-to-medium-term accessibility.

Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, venison tenderloin, roasted duck breast, truffled wild mushroom risotto, and fine aged French cheeses like Comté or Saint-Nectaire.
