Chateau Cos d'Estournel is one of Saint Estephe's most iconic estates, celebrated for its depth, precision, and remarkable longevity. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, it reveals aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, blackberry, graphite, cedar, cigar box, violet, and exotic spice. The palate is powerful yet impeccably balanced, with velvety tannins, vibrant freshness, and an exceptionally long, mineral-driven finish.

The 2021 Château Cos d'Estournel Grand Vin is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, matured in 55% new French oak. More restrained and elegant than some recent vintages, it offers beautiful aromas of red and black currants, damp earth, graphite, scorched earth and tobacco leaf. Medium-bodied with seamless balance, ripe polished tannins, remarkable purity and outstanding length, it is among the finest wines of the vintage. While already enjoyable, it will benefit from 3–4 years of cellaring and continue evolving for two decades.

One of the more concentrated and muscular wines of the 2021 vintage, the Château Cos d'Estournel reveals aromas of dark berries, cassis, charcoal, sweet cigar wrapper and subtle smoked meats, accented by well-integrated new oak. Medium- to full-bodied, it is rich and fleshy, supported by generous tannins and finishing with impressive length and depth.

Immediately alluring, the wine offers generous boysenberry and creamed plum flavors with an exotic edge, accented by rooibos tea, mulling spices and sweet tobacco. The finish is smooth and caressing, supported by a chalky backbone that is better integrated than many wines from the vintage, ending with a lingering hint of alder. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2025 through 2037.
