About the Chateau Clinet Pomerol
Crafted in the heart of the famed Pomerol plateau on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château Clinet is an iconic, world-renowned blue-chip estate celebrated for producing some of the most opulent, aromatic, and sought-after Merlot-dominant wines in the world. Owned and passionately managed by Ronan Laborde, the estate's prime 11-hectare vineyard sits on deep, ancient gravel terraces mixed with iron-rich clay (crasse de fer) soils neighboring legendary properties like Pétrus and Château L'Évangile. Dominated by old-vine Merlot blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, the vineyard yields fruit of extraordinary concentration, dramatic color, and velvety richness. Hand-harvested with rigorous sorting, the grapes undergo plot-by-plot fermentation in temperature-controlled oak and stainless steel vats before aging for 16 to 18 months in fine French oak barrels (approximately 70–75% new). Château Clinet is globally recognized for its extravagant black fruit density, seamless cashmere tannins, and exceptional cellaring longevity.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, venison tenderloin, duck breast with blackberry reduction, truffled mushroom risotto, and fine aged French cheeses like Comté or Saint-Nectaire.
